Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) is one of the oldest and most commonly used method of protecting steel fasteners from corrosion. HDG coating is relatively maintenance-free and provides excellent corrosion protection to steel structures for 50-70 years in most atmospheric environments (industrial, urban, marine & rural).
The key difference between galvanized and hot dip galvanized is that most galvanized materials have a smooth and sharp finishing, whereas hot sip galvanized structures have a rough finishing. Galvanization is a process of preventing metal surfaces from corrosion.
