Left-hand threads are the opposite of right-hand threads, so they are often also referred to as 'reverse thread screws' - their threads run in the anti-clockwise direction and must be turned anticlockwise to fasten them or clockwise to unfasten them.
Left-handed threads, also known as reverse threads, are screw threads that slope upward to the left. When a left-handed screw is rotated clockwise, it moves away from the user instead of towards them, unlike a right-handed screw.
If the threads angle up to the right, it's a right-hand thread. If they angle up to the left, it's a left-hand thread. Use the “Righty-Tighty, Lefty-Loosey” Rule: Try to turn the screw or bolt in a clockwise direction. If it moves away from you, it's a right-hand thread.
