Circlip also known as retaining ring or snap ring, is a kind of fastener, which is installed in the shaft groove or hole groove of machine and equipment, and plays a role in preventing the axial movement of parts on the shaft or hole. There are mainly shaft clamp (STW) and hole clamp (RTW), and the material is mainly 65Mn spring steel. There are two methods for surface treatment of snap ring, one is oxidation treatment, and the other is galvanizing passivation treatment.
Standards include: circlip for hole a standard gb/t 893.186；Standard for circlips for shafts gb/t 894-2017；Standard for circlip for heavy hole jb/zq4341 - 97；Standard for circlip for heavy shaft jb/zq4342-97. Of course, there are also C-type, E-type and U-type snap rings.
